We are Lakes Area Roboitcs — formed to support the robotics teams in Spirit Lake, Iowa Team. FRC team 5776 is in its tenth competition season, and FLL team 60636 just completed its first comptetition season. Made up of students from Spirit Lake Schools and mentors from the STEM industry, our team develops engineering, business, and teamwork skills by participating in the FIRST® Robotics Competition. In this competition, we design, build, and program robots in roughly 2 months to compete against other teams from all over the world.

As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, our team works to encourage STEM careers for our members. In addition, we do outreach in the Iowa Great Lakes community to foster STEM learning. This includes visiting elementary schools, running booths at community events, and holding summer camps for younger students.

Without generous sponsorship from local businesses, our team could not survive. Spirit Lake Schools provides workspace for us at the technical bulding. In addition, several local companies support our team by donating money, time, or products.
